Fan Encounters:
Have you met Billy Warlock? If so, please share your story!
Las Vegas, NV - August 2006
I met Billy today in the Vegas airport. He was with his new wife Julie. They were so nice to me. They were married on
the same day as my daughter Jennifer. She saw them in line getting their license. I never dreamed I would see them
in person at the airport. I was flying home to Buffalo. They chatted with me and my daughter in law.
I was so star struck I forgot I had a camera with me??? Oh well it was a moment I will never forget.
Thanks Billy and Julie. ~ Pat

New York, NY - April 2005
"I met Billy 3 weeks ago after a Wednesday matinee of the Broadway show "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels." After the show itself,
my mom went "Oh my gosh, Meg! It's BILLY WARLOCK!" Then... while I was waiting by the stage door for the cast to come out.
I saw him again, and then decided that I had to go up to him. So I did, and we talked about the play and how
he was giong to get "killed off" in 2 weeks. Then I took my picture with him. He was so nice and personable.
He made my entire into the city for my birthday a truly memorable one." ~ Megan

Anaheim, CA - June 2003
We went to the show "who wants to be a millionaire" where billy was a contestant. He was so
humerous. Then we went to "cofee talk" where he sat on stage and the audience asks him
questions. I screamed "I LOVE YOU BILLY" and he looked at me and winked.
Then we decided to wait in line. When going up he hugged me tight and talked to me. He asked me
how I was, and how I was enjoying disneyland. I said he was the nicest soap star I met while
staying there. and he told me who was being mean and he'd go punch them for me. He was so nice,
sweet, and funny. He took the time to talk to his fans and wrote personal messages instead of
just signing his name when doing autographs. He is an awesome guy and deserves a storyline!!

Anaheim, CA - April 2002
The first time I met Billy was at SSW in California last April, 2002. We started out in Billy's line, first thing in
the morning. When I walked up to him I said "Hi Billy, I have to give you hugs from Janis, Tracy, & Debco", he says
"OK, but who are you??" I told him who I was & he gave me a hug. (He smelled soooo good. I carried the scent of his
cologne around with me for hours after that) and said, "You know, I really want AJ to have a real love interest, I want
AJ and Courtney to really be in love". He said, "I do, too, and I expect that to change", and I said "yup, we have new
writers now." I said "well, I'm been signing petitions, I signed that flyer and sent you a copy and I keep emailing."
He grabbed my hand and said, "That is so wonderful of you, you don't know how much I appreciate that" and got up and
gave me another hug. During the time we were talking, he
signed a personalized picture for me that was provided by the promoters of this event and we had our picture taken
together. Anyway, the Disney employee told us three times that he had to see other people and he kept talking to me, even
when I was trying to say goodbye. He acted like he didn't want our conversation to end, I was the one who ended it. He
was so friendly, so nice and looks so much younger in person. ~ Seajay
Studio City, CA - August 2002
I met Billy this past weekend and the entire weekend was great. I loved the
fact that on meeting Billy knowing he had a full schedule that Sunday he
truly looked happy to meet everyone. I was touched that the one fan letter
I wrote him, he remembered. It was my first time meeting him and my first
experience going to the fan weekend, and totally enjoyed it. ~ Joyce
Los Angeles, CA - April 2002
I met Billy last Tuesday [April 23rd], at of all places, jury duty! He was worried about getting to the set on time that day,
but he was still very nice and gracious. He has been one of my favorite actors on GH for a while now, and I found him to
be just a regular guy. He turned what could have been an unpleasant day, into a positive one for me, and I hope I did that
for him as well. I found him very easy to talk to, and though I'd never met him before, I felt like we were old friends.

Mill Valley, CA - December 2001
I met Billy at my 10 Year High School Reunion! His girlfriend Tolan was in
my graduating class of 1991 from Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley, CA.
I found Billy to be very pleasant, and easy to talk to. Definitely not what
I would expect from most celebrities. Billy was very friendly and easy
going - just a regular guy! Except that he is so much better looking than a
regular guy. I thoroughly enjoyed talking to him, and I hope he wasn't too bored at our
reunion! Thanks Billy! ~ Liz

Frisco, TX - September 2001
I went to the BW event sponsored by Soap Opera Digest and it was great! My first event since 1985 and for something totally
free, I had a super time. Billy is so sweet and laid back, he was very candid about the show and answered all our questions
very openly. I will try to recap:
He talked about first starting in the biz at 18 yrs old, playing "Flip" on Happy Days, going out for the Alex Keaton role
and getting beat by Michael J. Michael sent him a note and thanked him for letting him make so much money.
We commented on his age, someone said he looked to be 28. He said he can only play 28 yr olds, that if he looked like a
man, they would fire him because they already have Ned.
I asked him how come he didn't have any scenes with Amber when she left and he said he and Amber were very upset about that,
also upset that she didn't have any scenes with the Scooby gang. He said Jilly tends to put the actors on that she wants to
instead of working all the actors a little all the time. That she doesn't usually listen to fans but she is starting to
realize this is wrong and is coming around. We asked why AJ doesn't have a love interest. Lots of talk about Hannah. He was sorry to see her leave. He doesn't know why they
don't let him have someone. ~ Kathy

Studio City, CA - July 2001
I attended the 2001 GH Weekend and was thrilled to have the opportunity to meet Billy. Not only did I get to meet him during the luncheon, but I was also
fortunate enough to see him again at the Manic Monday Event hosted by Maurice Benard the following Monday. Although everyone
was tired from the weekend, it was great seeing how well Billy, Chad Brannon & Maurice got along! I was also very
impressed with how open and honest Billy was about his current storyline (or lack of). It's not often you get to meet
someone who is that concerned with how the fans feel about the show, and believe me the fans appreciate honestly and
integrity more than anything else! Thank You Billy for standing up for what you believe in! Just remember, your fans will
always be right there alongside you. I'm looking forward to your coming out to my neck of the woods in September (Stonebriar
Mall, Frisco TX) Best of Luck on your journey!! ~ Gayla

I can't believe I *finally* met Billy after all these years! I've been
following his career since he played Frankie on DAYS and I was really
glad to have an opportunity to talk with him a little bit at the 2001
Quartermaine Brunch. Billy is a genuine person who speaks from the
heart-and I admire that greatly! ~ Kayla

Orlando - November 1999
I met Billy when I went to California! He is awesome! Actually that was the second time I met him! I first met him at Super Soap Weekend 1999 [pictured left] and was totally impressed and intimidated by him...I have on video me trying to have a conversation with him and I was stuttering (which is very unusual for me)....but California was different! I was more relaxed with him (probably because I already met him before)...anyway, he was very sweet and I was so disappointed that he wasn't at this year's SSW..... Hopefully I'll see him again in July! ~ Jennifer

Orlando - March 1998

Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas - November 2000
He received a wonderful reception. He made the crowd smile, as he approached the stage and said, "I'm nothing like AJ." He was asked to place his hands in cement for his hand-prints to be molded. These will be displayed at this Planet Hollywood. He was funny when he mentioned the cement felt hot. He took some questions from the audience...I have worked for Billy since 1988. He hasn't changed. He has always been a very nice man, who appreciates people.

Billy, ahhh Billy, I must digress for a moment and say WHAT A BABE! He came over and jumped into our conversation like he'd known us forever...He intends to host a fan event next year and either not charge at all for it or give the proceeds to charity because he and John Ingle were discussing it... Billy is the only person I had my picture taken with. ~ Tracey

Orlando - November 1999
I've met Billy TWICE so far. The first time was at Super Soap Weekend last year in Orlando, Florida [pictured left]. He was GREAT. It was pouring raining that day and Billy stood out there and signed autographs, posed for pictures and answered any questions that the fans had. I didn't really like the character of AJ at the time, so I wasn't sure if I'd like Billy, but after meeting him, I changed my mind. He's a great actor and a very funny guy.
I also met Billy this past July at the GH fan club luncheon in California. Once again, he was great with his fans, signing autographs, posing for pictures, etc. The thing that sticks out the most about Billy is that he's very funny.
I'm hoping to go back to California next year and hopefully I'll see him again. ~ Fran

Studio City, CA - July 2001
I met Billy for the first time the weekend of July 27-29, 2001 in California. He and girlfriend Tolan were kind enough to take me (and a friend) out to dinner. It was completely
unnecessary but very much appreciated. Instead of talking all night about GH and his character, we talked about each other and our interests. He has such a down-to-earth personality that makes people just want to talk to him. It was a great weekend - thanks Billy! ~ Parul

Massachusetts - April 2000
Ok, guys, I just got back from the Fan Event with Maurice Benard (Sonny) and Billy Warlock! Let me just tell you off the bat that it was incredible! I had the best time! It was awesome. And let me tell you that I am so glad that Billy Warlock was there. He is an amazing person! I loved hearing him speak and he is sooooo much more attractive in person than he is on screen. He doesn't like what AJ has been doing lately, up until the last 2/3 months. He's a riot. I like AJ 100 times better now that I have seen BW. He also says that he's having a lot of fun playing a drunk so that he can have a better time...Billy said that they got some positive responses at the show about AJ hooking up with Hannah.
Oh, funny story that they told. Maurice and Billy work out together every morning and Billy said that last year during the taping of the Nurses' Ball, Maurice walked by a mirror and started posing so Billy started posing with him. They ended up stripping down to their skivvies and were posing. Then Lynn Herring (Lucy) walked into the room and caught them red-handed. He said it was the epitome of embarrassing. I thought that was a riot. I have to say that I really love Maurice Benard. But Billy Warlock is right up there with him. The guy is awesome. He really is. ~ Kerry Ann
Orlando - 1990
My daughter was home this weekend and we were watching an old home video of her when she was in high school and cheerleading (about 10yrs ago). Her squad always competed in Orlando, Florida at the USCA Championships in Feb/March and they always have a banquet the night before...well, guess who the keynote speaker was...Billy Warlock....I had completely forgotten about him being
there. He talked to the girls about it isn't all about winning.....and the drive to be competitive....but above anything else to go out there and have fun and to always be true to yourself first and foremost.
My daughter LeighAnna says what still stands out most from meeting Billy is this: One of our cheerleaders, Jenny, was in a wheelchair recovering from surgery that she had at the beginning of the season to remove a tumor from the base of her brain stem....sadly she is no longer with us.....but what stands out in
LeighAnna's memory is that when they took the group photo Billy knelt down beside Jenny and they took the photo that way...and with that I think he won over our whole cheerleading squad...all 16 of them ....it made him more 'genuine' not some "Hollywood Celebrity"!! ~ Rebecca
Frisco, TX - September 2001
I met Billy at the Behind the Scenes Tour Soap Digest put on. He was
everything I knew he would be and more. I have met many, many actors in my
20+ years watching ABC Soaps, and I can honestly say this fan encounter was
the best. I was one of the lucky ones who had the pleasure of acting a
scene with Billy-what a consummate professional. He told me I was Carly.
I've had a lot of practice studing her scenes!! I hope that Billy will come
to Texas again soon because I will be first in line again to meet him. My
daughter Michaela and I took many pictures that day, and he was so generous
to pose with everyone in line. When you are entertained with people
everyday, they become part of your family--Billy's worth that and more!
~ Renee
Frisco, TX - September 2001
I met Billy yesterday. Not only was it my first time to meet him but my first time to meet anyone from GH.
He was terrific! My nine-year old daughter was with me and loved the experience. She's having her first major crush!
Billy asked her questions and made her feel comfortable and she was thrilled to get her own picture signed. He was so
funny and truthful during the questions/answers. Even though I could tell that he's frustrated with the current state of
his character, he's looking forward to a better story. I hope he gets it...it's well deserved. It was a pleasure to meet
Billy and we hope to have the opportunity again. ~ Cecile
Golf & Tennis Tournament- 1984
I met Billy back in 1984 at celebrity golf and tennis tournament. I did not
know who he was at the time because I did not watch a lot of t.v. and thought
he was a college tennis player. I also thought he was very good looking.
he definitely had a great sense of humor. We ended up having a predinner
conversation and almost missed dinner. I found out that he was one of the
big guest stars and should have sat in the main dining area but ended up
sitting at our table in the back room. That is just the kind of person he
is. we had a great weekend. He really makes you feel special. He is also a
great dancer! Back then he was a big Billy Joel fan and had a Doberman
named rebel instead of cats. He liked to drink gray hounds! Those things
have changed but in reading his letters from fans in the more recent years he
sounds like he is still the same funny, interesting great guy to be around.
I know meeting Billy 17 years ago stuck in my mind and I sometimes think of
some of the clever things he said and it makes me smile. I hope all his fans
get the chance to meet him someday. ~ Katie
Studio City, CA - July 2001
I met Billy this past July at the GH Luncheon. I actually first saw him at the Kurth & Taylor concert where he did a Q&A with other
cast members afterwards. He was very entertaining talking about how Baywatch seems like Shakespeare compared to the recent
storylines on GH. I took a great pic of him that night which is on our website, General Hospital Rocks. I also attented the
Manic Monday event where he was so charming and warm. He's definitely a down to earth guy, the type I'd love to be able to
just hang out and a have some beers with. (No AJ reference- honest!) Billy truly struck me as a very nice and very sweet
individual. Now if only they'd give this fine actor some good material and a woman. He has too much charm oozing from his
pores to waste. ~ Nicole
Studio City, CA - July 2001
I really enjoyed the Quartermaine brunch, as always. I was disappointed
that they had everyone stand in line (before, they had the actors come to
our tables). I was very tired of standing in lines that weekend. But I did
stand in Billy Warlock's line because he is my favorite. He's so cute, and
funny, and he's very nice to his fans. All weekend I was laughing at his
jokes. He does like to complain a lot about the show (like most of the GH
cast), but he makes it very funny and entertaining. He and Brad Maule
should do a standup routine together.
The line was very slow-moving but it was worth it. I told Billy I had a
seen a TV movie the other day that he had done in the 90's, some airplane
disaster movie. He groaned, knowing it was a junky movie, and said it was a
very quick job that he did right before he came onto GH.
Last time I came, my flash was not working right, so I couldn't get a
picture of myself with him. This year, I brought a disposable camera and
the flash worked fine. However, either I lost the camera or someone stole
it, so I STILL don't have a picture of myself with Billy! :( Well, maybe
next time...I did take some more pics of him at the GH luncheon. I really
didn't want to stand in line again, though. There were too many lines that
whole weekend! Occasionally I like to catch Baywatch reruns just to catch Billy....I wish
they would show old Days episodes with him. ~ Suzanne
